White Tie collections from Ede & Ravenscroft

Choose from either:

  • A traditional black tailcoat with striped or hounds tooth trousers and a waistcoat.
  • Or grey matching three-piece tail suit.

Thanks to a range of styles, Ede and Ravenscroft starched white collars ensure that our tunic (collarless) shirts can be worn as morning dress at social occasions such as races, formal gatherings or weddings.

Black tie

Extensive black tie range from Ede & Ravenscroft

Seasonal and festive formal dinners and elegant cocktail parties can become even more special when wearing one of our classic one-buttoned dinner jackets. Each design features a peaked lapel or shawl collar faced with twill. The jackets are the perfect partners to matching trousers. A white dress shirt fastened with studs and a bow tie completes the outfit.

Smoking jackets

Smoking Jackets from Ede & Ravenscroft

Velvet smoking jackets are traditionally worn with evening trousers or tartan trews, evening shirt and a bow tie or cravat. They are perfect to wear at home or when sharing a mellow whisky with friends and colleagues at a gentleman’s club. Our personally tailored or ready to wear smoking jackets come in a choice of lavish colours and single or double-breasted styles.

White tie

White tie wear from Ede & Ravenscroft

White tie is the most formal of outfits. It is reserved for civic events, ambassadorial dinners, and very formal balls. The outfit consists of a black tailcoat with matching trousers, a studded-front white shirt with detachable wing collar and white Marcella bow-tie and waistcoat.

Waistcoats

King Charles introduced the waistcoat as a part of correct dress. Writing in 1666, Samuel Pepys, the diarist, noted that:

“the King hath yesterday in council declared his resolution of setting a fashion for clothes which he will never alter. It will be a vest, I know not well how”

Ede and Ravenscroft’s wide range of waistcoats – either single or double breasted, with or without lapels – still remain as tasteful and refined as they have always been.

Our waistcoats are tailored in linen and wool or Marcella cotton for white tie outfits. As well as 3-piece suits, waistcoats can be made to go with your choice of suit as an optional extra. In addition to morning wear waistcoats, we offer waistcoats to wear with sports jackets.
